Jump Rope X-treme
Jump Rope X-treme....the name says it all. The newest competitive team in Southwestern Ontario has 15 competitive members for the 2008-2009 jump rope season.
From the youngest rookies, to the Canadian National and World Champion jumpers, the athletes strive to continue to improve their skills in Single Rope, Double Dutch, Group Routines and Team Shows.
Several of the athletes have traveled throughout the world---competing, demonstrating their skills and promoting the sport. While many of the jumpers hold Regional, Provincial, National and International titles, having fun is also important to this group. Sharing the love of skipping by doing Team Show performances at special community events, sporting events and schools keeps the team very active. Highlight performances have included shows for the Canadian Football Toronto Argonauts, Women's NBA Detroit Shock, Men's NBA Detroit Pistons, TV summer commercial local college basketball half time shows and community parades. The team also promotes the sport of jump rope by working with The Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The team also runs recreational skipping programs and workshops throughout the year.
Top 2008 Accomplishments:
3 NEW Nationals Records - 7 & under age division (Shelby Bekaan)
2 NEW Nationals Records - 18 & over Male age division (Brock Balsam)
Special Mention To...
Joey (12-14 year old age group) and Josh (7 & under age group) for earning provincial records.

Jump Rope X-treme will be hosting the 2009 Regionals. They also plan on attending Provincials and the Junior Olympics. Jumpers will also be improving their skills at the ORSO Workshop (Nov, 2008) and the All Stars Ohio Workshop (Dec, 2008).
