Essex Energizers
The Essex Energizers are a Competitive Jump Rope Team based out of Essex Ontario. Our Head coach is Melissa “Lou” Allsop, and we have two assistant coaches Melissa Beaulieu and Lindsay George. Together they bring in over thirty years of Jump Rope Experience. In addition to our coaches we also have Lucas Martin, Lauren Sulpher , Amanda Carscadden, Holly Foster and Dylan Montcalm who share skills and tricks, give support and offer creative input to routines. The Essex Energizers are proud to welcome back many past season skippers and are excited to welcome all of our new skippers. For the 2008/2009 season we are thirty-eight members strong.
The Essex Energizers run community based recreation skipping programs, that service on average eighty skippers per year, running through skill building, double dutch experience, speed skills and the favored long rope fun. The Essex Energizers also run a workshop for the local county schools to help prepare them for the Annual County Competition that we host in the Spring. The County Competition is held in co operation with the Greater Essex County District School Board.
In 2008 the Essex Energizers were invited to perform at many venues. We were interviewed by the Windsor Star, Windsor Life magazine, and we were interviewed and filmed by A-Channel news. We helped kick off a fundraiser for Jump Rope for Heart, performed for “We care for kids” family celebrations and the Camp for Compassion fundraising weekend. Canada Day we performed in Amherstburg at their celebrations as well as in Ottawa, at our Nations capital celebrations. The Essex Energizers perform as a team as well as have a performance team made up of twelve elite skippers that have performed as the half-time show for the University of Windsor, Lancers Basketball team.
